Job summary

A leading finance and accounting firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Executive, Accounts (GL) to ensure accurate financial reporting and manage month-end closing processes. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, with strong expertise in general ledger and compliance reporting. Responsibilities include preparing management reports and liaising with tax agents and auditors to ensure timely submissions. This role is crucial for maintaining high financial standards and supporting day-to-day financial operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance/accounting with strong GL exposure.
  • Experience in compliance and reporting for Bursa Malaysia.
  • Familiarity with financial audits and transfer pricing.

Job description
Senior Executive, Accounts (GL) Manufacturing

The person is responsible that to ensure timeliness, accuracy, completeness and relevance of the Finance reporting including analysis.

Responsible for monthly GL closing, which includes but not limited to the below:

  • prepare workings and post journal entries into accounting system
  • ensure all intercompany transactions have been accounted for and intercompany balances can be agreed with related parties
  • ensure subledger can be agreed to GL (eg. inventory, fixed assets, AP & AR aging report etc)
  • fixed asset management (addition, disposal & depreciation)

Prepare monthly management report and other reports for submission to management

Prepare quarterly Bursa reporting pack for submission to Group Finance

Prepare quarterly progress report and rolling forecast within the stipulated timeline

Prepare annual budget and forecast

Assist with the submission of CP204/CP204A estimated tax payable

Liaise with tax agent on yearly tax return submission

Liaise with tax consultant on yearly transfer pricing documentation

Liaise with auditor on year end audit (include attending stock take, preparing audit schedules, drafting financial statement etc)

Support day-to-day financial functions and operating personnel on financial matters (key liaison between AR & AP)

Review self-billing (for e-invoicing purpose) prepared by AP and submit before every month end

Process improvement initiatives encompass areas such as internal controls as well as to enhance and improve efficiencies of the system/work processes

Carry out any other assignments as requested by Management

Requirements
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance/accounting, with strong GL and reporting exposure
  • Experience in compliance and external reporting (e.g. Bursa Malaysia filings, tax submissions)
  • Familiarity with CP204, transfer pricing, and financial audits
  • Proficient in month-end closing, management reports, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Proven experience working with AR/AP teams, tax agents, and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate reporting
