A global technology firm is seeking a Lead Engineer in Test Manufacturing based in Kulim, Kedah. This role involves managing test equipment and ensuring robust product testing solutions. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the electronics manufacturing sector. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in PCBA/Box System manufacturing or Test Engineering.
  • Capable of creating a test profile based on customer specifications.
  • Ability to perform failure analysis at system level.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for transition of new products and processes from engineering to manufacturing.
  • Manage test yield, uptime performance and capacity analysis for all test processes.
  • Work closely with product engineering to define manufacturing requirements.

Summary

The Lead Engineer, Test Manufacturing accepts, transfers, installs, improves and maintains automatic test equipment and test programs that are used for product testing and design verification. They also may support the test development of the test equipment and processes to ensure robust and high quality test solutions and final products are realized.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the transition of new products and processes from engineering to manufacturing and the supply chain.
  • Responsible for all manufacturing test related issues, FCT/SYST/ESS etc.
  • Knowledge in operation LINUX base operating system environment.
  • Responsible for all manufacturing Test equipment and fixtures setup, maintenance, calibration, evaluation and troubleshooting
  • Responsible for Customer product test method, evaluation, enhancement and RMA test failure analysis.
  • This position will work closely with product engineering to define manufacturing requirements within the New Product Development process.
  • Manage test yield, up time performance and capacity analysis for all test processes.
  • Work with the CFT team to improve test yield/quality issues and root cause analysis.
  • Work with Customer to address any test related issues/request/improvement.
  • Work with supplier/developer on test hardware/software development or improvement.
  • Assist Test Technician in developing testers operation, maintenance and troubleshooting skill sets.
  • Assist Debug Technician in developing product debugging methods and skillsets.
  • Manage debug Work In Progress (WIP) inventories at minimal level
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Familiar with test method and understanding of the test program at Functional Test area.
  • Familiar with ESS/HASS chamber and capable of creating a test profile, test fixture/rack based on customer test specification.
  • Experience in analog and digital circuit theory, statistical analysis tools. Capable of performing failure analysis at system level down to device electronics boards.
  • Knowledge of operating the basic test instruments (such as digital oscilloscope, LCR meter, spectrum analysers etc.)
  • Capable of learning and understanding from Customer Test documentation, Schematic, Drawing, CAD file, component datasheets etc.
  • Capable of configuring, deploying & validate application software/test programs (win/unix).
  • Knowledge in test automation and being able to work with suppliers and or customer to optimize/enhance the new/current test method/processes.
  • Able to work independently, self motivated and well-organized.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Typical Experience
  • Minimum 5 - 7 year(s) of working experience in PCBA/Box System manufacturing or Test Engineering, preferable from EMS background.
Typical Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
