Job Description

As a Senior Equipment Engineer specializing in sputter media, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of sputtering equipment used in the production of hard disk media. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal equipment performance, minimize downtime, improve cycle times, and contribute to the development of new processes and technologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability.
  2. Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  3. Oversee machine installation, maintenance, and repair of sputtering equipment.
  4. Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  5. Collaborate with process engineers to develop and optimize sputtering processes.
  6. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for equipment upgrades, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  7. Provide technical expertise, training, and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
  8. Ensure all equipment and support systems comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  9. Prepare and present reports on equipment status, performance metrics, and project progress to management.
  10. Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for equipment operation and maintenance.
  11. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, production managers, and quality assurance, to achieve production goals.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in equipment engineering, preferably in sputter media or semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in sputter media or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of high-vacuum technology and plasma physics.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of vacuum systems and thin-film deposition techniques.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools, troubleshooting, PLC programming, automation, SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong technical writing skills for reports and documentation.
