Summary
Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Define hardware architecture and critical interfaces for networking and server products.
  • Own schematics, component selection, and BOM definition to meet performance, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Drive cross-functional design reviews covering DFM, DFT, EMC, safety, and reliability.
  • Support system bring-up, validation planning, and troubleshooting during EVT/DVT/PPVT phases.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers at the Penang site.
  • Work with global teams and suppliers to resolve technical issues and achieve project milestones.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering processes and continuously improve design quality.
  • Strong knowledge of system-level hardware design, including CPUs, memory subsystems, power delivery, and high-speed interfaces.
  • Familiarity with EMC, safety standards, and board-level design constraints.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills at system bring-up stage.
  • Ability to review and assess design risks, and propose system-level solutions.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills for cross-site collaboration.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Typical Experience
  • 5–8 years of hardware development experience, with proven track record in system-level design.
  • Experience in networking or server hardware preferred.
  • Prior experience leading projects and mentoring engineers in a global environment is an advantage.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent
