Senior Electrical Engineer (Solar PV & BESS Design)

MSR Green Energy Sdn. Bhd. is a prominent solar EPCC contractor committed to accelerating the transition to clean energy through innovative and sustainable projects. We are seeking a highly competent and committed Senior Electrical Engineer with a minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on LSS design experience, with exposure to BESS, to join our growing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end electrical design of utility‑scale Solar PV and BESS projects, supporting projects from feasibility through construction and commissioning. This position is ideal for a technically strong individual who is passionate about renewable energy and thrives in a fast‑paced project delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be involved in the full cycle of Solar PV and BESS system design using AutoCAD and PVsyst
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of solar inverters, BESS, distribution panels, transformers, protection systems, and other critical components
• Generate detailed electrical schematics, cable routing plans, interconnection drawings, SLDs, and layouts that adhere to local codes and standards
• Contribute to the compilation of comprehensive electrical drawings, supporting documents, and application forms for submission to utility companies, regulatory bodies, and local authorities to secure necessary permits and approvals
• Collaborate and coordinate with relevant authorities and utility companies during project coordination, testing, and commissioning for both Solar PV and BESS systems
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop analyses, basic protection checks, and system simulations to support the safe and efficient distribution of energy
• Engage in site visits and inspections to evaluate the alignment of electrical infrastructure with approved design specifications
• Support projects throughout their complete life cycle, encompassing feasibility assessment, preliminary and detailed design, construction, and commissioning
• Prepare as-built drawings and final technical documentation upon project completion
• Assist in the preparation of relevant technical materials and documentation for tender submissions, including Solar PV and BESS scopes

About You:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum five (5) years of industry experience in LSS Solar PV design, with exposure to BESS projects
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and PVsyst
• GCPV Design accreditation is preferred
• Familiarity with PVcase software will be an added advantage
• Good grasp of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards pertaining to Solar PV and BESS systems
• Strong technical interest in solar photovoltaic systems, BESS, and electrical BOP components
• Effective problem‑solving skills and keen attention to detail, with a strong commitment to safety and quality
• Strong communication and coordination skills, enabling collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, work within deadlines, and thrive in a team environment
