Job summary

A prominent engineering firm in Malaysia is seeking a BIM Specialist + Design Engineer to provide technical CAD and BIM support. Responsibilities include developing BIM models, preparing accurate layouts for various project phases, and collaborating with project stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Architectural Engineering and 4-5 years of experience in BIM software, especially AutoCAD. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are also required.

• Knowledge of ISO-compliant drafting standards and technical documentation.

BIM Specialist + Design Engineer Role:

• Provide technical, CAD, and Building Information Modelling (BIM) support to the stakeholder team.
• Develop BIM model and prepare BIM Modelling, 3D and 2D drawings.
• Prepare accurate layouts for tender, construction, approval, and as-built phases, including system integrations, product details, steel shaft designs, title blocks, and ISO-compliant revisions.
• Manage both frontline and supply-line BIM cases, ensuring layouts are compatible with supply line solutions.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to deliver customized, high-quality solutions.
• Deliver accurate and timely layouts to meet customer expectations.
• Provide technical guidance and layout support to team members.
• Communicate design changes that may impact delivery, project timelines, or system integration.
• Coordinate with supply line, installation, maintenance, and project teams to align on materials, specifications, and project requirements.

To be successful for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural, Architectural Engineering or a related field.
• 4 to 5 years of experience in BIM software (AutoCAD) or CAD tools.
• Knowledge of ISO-compliant drafting standards and technical documentation.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into accurate BIM layouts.
