Job summary

A leading civil engineering firm in Kuching, Malaysia, is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor with at least 5 years of experience in post-contract activities. Responsibilities include managing tender compilation, evaluating subcontractor bids, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements. The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, with a strong understanding of procurement and cost control, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software. Fluency in Chinese, English, and Bahasa Malaysia is required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, claims, and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pre-contract and post-contract matters.

Job Description

• Assist in pre-contract and post-contract matters, including tender compilation, quantity take-off, and sourcing of quotations.
• Review and evaluate tender bids and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare, submit, and monitor progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
• Evaluate subcontractors’ claims, invoices, and certificates.
• Ensure subcontract works comply with the main contract and subcontract requirements.
• Monitor project costs, expenditure, and budget control.
• Coordinate closely with the site team to keep project progress on track.
• Prepare and maintain project insurance and performance bonds.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, company policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
