Job summary

A leading construction company in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to handle valuation, measurement, and tender preparation. Responsibilities include managing claims and payments, coordinating project requirements, and conducting site visits. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, with at least 6 years of experience in industrial or high-rise construction. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential. This role offers a competitive salary and involvement in diverse projects.

  • Conduct regular site visits for accurate valuation and material monitoring.
  • Work closely with project managers to address issues leading to extensions of time.

Job description

Collaborate and assisting in all fundamental Quantity Surveyor tasks, including valuation, measurement, and quantity take-offs for both pre-contract and post-contract stages.

Prepare and manage progress claims, sub‑contractor payments, and final accounts.

Support tender activities by preparing tender documents and sourcing quotations and pricing.

Coordinate with relevant departments to gather necessary information, such as material pricing and commercial terms.

Identify and engage suppliers and sub‑contractors to obtain quotations.

Monitor and manage materials supply.

Conduct regular site visits for accurate valuation, measurement, and material monitoring.

Work closely with project managers to address issues that may lead to extensions of time (EOT), variation orders (VO), or changes in working conditions from those stipulated in the contract.

Coordinate with contractors and site personnel to ensure project requirements are met.

Prepare comprehensive contract documents and maintain accurate records.

Any other task assigned by the HOD from time to time.

Qualification Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Management, or equivalent.

Candidates withat least 6 years of working experiencein industrial building and/or high-rise building construction.

Knowledge of construction costing, budgeting, and cost control.

Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, construction teams, and sub-contractors.

Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
