Responsibilities
  • Program CNC grinding machines.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Set up grinding machines for high-precision parts.
  • Select grinding wheels based on material and surface requirements.
  • Modify programs for improved machining performance.
  • Align and secure workpieces using fixtures, vices, or magnetic chucks.
  • Set up and operate coordinate grinding machines.
  • Configure CNC tool paths for complex contours.
  • Manage multiple grinding operations simultaneously.
  • Evaluate and correct taper, roundness, and run-out issues.
  • Maintain strict traceability and inspection records.
  • Review and approve first article inspections.
  • Suggest tolerance relaxations where machining constraints arise.
  • Monitor wheel wear and replace when necessary.
  • Set wheel balance and truing for vibration‑free grinding.
  • Apply coolant strategies for thermal control.
  • Create and maintain wheel usage logs.
  • Design custom jigs and fixtures for difficult‑to‑hold parts.
  • Recommend new wheel specifications based on material evolution.
  • Reduce tooling consumption through optimized programming.
