A leading communications agency is seeking a proactive Senior Client Executive to manage accounts and deliver strategic results across multiple channels. The role involves leadership in project management, media relations, and client engagement. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in PR with excellent writing skills and the confidence to guide junior staff.
As a Senior Client Executive, you’ll step into a leadership role on your accounts, managing day-to-day communications programmes while contributing to strategy and delivering strong results across earned, social, and digital channels. You’ll take more ownership — leading WIPs, advising clients, managing budgets, and guiding junior team members — while keeping your finger on the pulse of industry trends and media behaviours.
This is a step up from Client Executive, where you’re no longer just executing — you’re leading.
Your Responsibilities
Account & Project Management
Take full ownership of day-to-day account operations and communications, ensuring all work aligns with the agreed scope, timelines, and KPIs
Lead WIP meetings with confidence — set the agenda, guide discussions, and manage follow-ups
Prepare all client deliverables — including meeting notes, trackers, activity reports, and evaluation summaries — with attention to accuracy, clarity, and timeliness
Own the implementation and coordination of campaigns across multiple touchpoints
Manage relationships with third-party vendors (e.g. designers, production teams, event partners), including briefing, coordination, and quality control
Assist in campaign budgeting and costing — help the account lead track project spend and manage scope
Identify operational risks, resourcing gaps, or timeline challenges early, and take the initiative to resolve them
Work closely with junior team members as a collaborator — guide when needed, but remain hands-on in executing and problem-solving
2. Media & Influencer Relations
Lead media pitching efforts — craft story angles, write and personalise pitches, and drive follow-ups until results are secured
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with media and influencers in relevant client sectors
Provide clients with strategic recommendations on media engagement, tone, or positioning — especially in low-RSVP or crisis contexts
Stay on top of evolving media trends and flag opportunities or threats that could impact your client
Monitor and analyse media coverage to report on performance, sentiment, and brand positioning
Ensure all reporting reflects insight, not just numbers — and links back to client goals
3. Client Management & Strategic Counsel
Stay deeply informed about your clients’ industry landscapes, audiences, competitors, and business challenges
Contribute to the development of strategic communication plans and integrated campaigns with meaningful, insight-led recommendations
Provide confident, day-to-day counsel to clients, helping them make informed decisions and navigate challenges
Lead preparation of briefing docs and materials for media training, campaigns, or public engagements
Monitor for potential issues that could impact client reputation and advise the team on mitigation approaches
Prepare post-campaign evaluations and strategic recaps that help clients see the bigger picture
4. Content Development
Research, write, and adapt high-quality content including press releases, pitches, briefing books, social media copy, Q&As, thought leadership articles, talking points, and more
Tailor content for different channels and audience behaviours — ensuring message consistency and impact
Build strong, media-worthy hooks and apply editorial sensibility to every piece
Use storytelling to bring clarity and appeal to complex or technical topics, especially in B2B sectors
Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to ensure content aligns with overall campaign direction
Contribute to new business proposals with ideas, research, and sample content when needed
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who’s ready to take ownership — not just tasks. You’re naturally proactive, dependable under pressure, and constantly thinking a step ahead. You believe that doing good work means owning the full process — from brief to result.
You have:
At least 3 years of experience in PR or integrated communications — agency or consultancy preferred
Confidence in managing client communications, deliverables, and results independently
A strong understanding of how earned, owned, and social media channels work together in campaigns
Solid media and influencer experience, with a passion for building and nurturing relationships
Excellent writing skills and the ability to shape clear, impactful messages across platforms
A genuine interest in both B2C and B2B industries — and the curiosity to learn how to translate complex topics into compelling stories
A growth mindset — you’re hungry to grow, take feedback well, and are always looking to sharpen your skills and expand your perspective
Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional language skills (e.g., Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin) are a plus
Bonus if you’re familiar with tools like Google Analytics, Meta Business Manager, Meltwater, or social listening dashboards
