Job description

Support our Business Development Manager in sourcing and developing healthcare products and partnerships across pharmaceuticals, medical devices, nutraceuticals, fertility science, and aesthetics. This is a strategic sourcing role, not field sales.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Product Sourcing, Product Development & Market Survey (50%)

Source and follow up on new leads for complementary healthcare products aligned with the company’s portfolio.

Identify potential business partners and suppliers for pharmaceutical, medical device, nutraceutical, fertility science, and aesthetic products.

Work with vendors and suppliers to develop house brands by identifying suitable product concepts that meet market demand.

Present the company’s business profile to potential principals and partners.

Liaise with external partners on commercial, regulatory, sales, and marketing considerations.

Conduct and compile market surveys within the assigned territory.

Prepare structured business proposals and recommendations.

Negotiate commercial terms and review contracts to ensure alignment with company interests.

2. Business Agreements & Renewals (20%)

Review business agreements to achieve mutual alignment between partners and the company.

Liaise with external legal counsel when required for agreement reviews.

Monitor and execute contract renewals or extensions.

3. Pre-Launch of New Products (15%)

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support the pre-launch and launch of new products.

Ensure readiness across commercial, regulatory, and operational aspects.

Prepare quarterly business reports through market and performance analysis.

Lead the execution and continuous improvement of the Annual Principal Survey.

Coordinate and organize business review meetings with principals.

KEY CHALLENGES

Managing long business development cycles that require patience and consistent follow-up.

Balancing multiple priorities across sourcing, ongoing projects, internal coordination, and negotiations.

Identifying strategic and commercially viable opportunities in competitive healthcare markets.

Managing communication with overseas principals across different time zones.

Navigating multiple healthcare product categories, each requiring different strategies and knowledge.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

1. Knowledge

Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical, Biochemistry, Biology, Nutrition, Dietitian, Science or equivalent.

2. Skills

Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract and interpret market data (e.g. IMS).

Good business acumen with objective, non-biased decision-making.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for partner and principal engagement.

Solid project management skills from planning through execution.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling structured documentation.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

3. Experience

2–3 years of experience in healthcare-related business development, product sourcing, or partnerships.

Background in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, nutraceuticals, fertility science, or aesthetics.

Exposure to regulatory aspects in Malaysia (and Singapore/Indonesia is an added advantage).

Experience reviewing or supporting business agreements is preferred.

Candidates from general sales, FMCG sales, or non-healthcare BD backgrounds may not be suitable.
