Job summary

A leading tax advisory firm in Malaysia is seeking a professional in Corporate Tax services to help clients manage tax obligations. Candidates will provide support on capital allowances and develop relationships with clients while preparing complex tax submissions. A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Accounting is required, along with at least 3 years in a tax environment. This role offers exposure to diverse industries and significant client interaction.

Qualifications

A career within Corporate Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. Our team assists clients with their capital investments, assessing which allowances, incentives and grants are available and identifying which expenditure is qualifying and eligible - covering areas such as Capital Allowances, Reinvestment Allowances, Investment Tax Allowances and Green Incentives.

Our team assists clients cutting across all industries, including property developers, manufacturing, retail, hotel and mall operators and energy generation. Our work is client facing and so you will be involved in attending client meetings and undertaking site visits.

The team is involved in projects throughout the entire process, including viability and feasibility, all the way through to the construction stage and building completion. You will be involved in meetings, discussions and presentations to various levels in the client organisation, inclusive of the finance, tax, procurement & project teams from the client and also their external contractors and consultants.

Responsibilities
  • Providing support on capital allowances, reinvestmentallowancesand other incentives across various sectors from a Capital Allowances and Incentives perspective
  • You will undertake the preparation and completion of complex tax Preparation of Capital Allowance claims for submission to local tax authorities and assessment and application for various incentives, allowances,regulationsand grants
  • Managing client engagements and developing strong relationships with both our clients and internal stakeholders
  • Working collaboratively witha strong teamfocus

  • At least 3 years of working experiences in related field
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Accounting & Finance orrelated field and/or professional qualification.
  • Experience of working in a tax environment, preferably in Capital Allowances
  • Good communicationskills – the candidate will be expected to be the point of contact on the projects they manage supporting a range of stakeholders including client contacts, colleagues in the teamand alsoin the wider tax practice
  • Good written skills including report writing, technical memo drafting and concise advice notes for sharing with clients
  • Analytical skills for numerical analysis of client data
  • High levelof integrity and professionalism to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
