Senior Accounts Executive (Reporting & GL)

Responsible for supporting month-end closing, preparation of financial reports, maintenance of the general ledger, and ensuring accurate and timely financial information in accordance with MFRS and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform month-end closing activities, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist in quarterly and annual financial reporting in compliance with MFRS.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness. Review and perform balance sheet reconciliations (banks, accruals, prepayments, intercompany, etc.).
  • Monitor and clear outstanding items promptly.
  • Assist in preparing tax-related schedules and supporting documents for corporate tax filing.
  • Ensure accuracy of SST filings (if applicable), withholding tax documentation, and related submissions.
  • Liaise with tax agents to provide data and respond to queries.
  • Support annual tax computation and tax audit processes.
  • Support annual statutory audit and address auditor queries on time. Ensure documentation complies with internal controls and financial policies.
  • Process improvement: Assist in streamlining reporting processes and enhancing internal controls. Participate in system enhancement and automation initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal departments to validate financial data.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis, projects, and reporting requirements as assigned.
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience (reporting/GL preferred).
  • Knowledge of accounting standards (MFRS) and internal control principles.
  • Proficient in MS Excel; experience with ERP/SAP is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
