Job summary

A leading company in logistics in Malaysia is seeking an experienced accounting professional to handle shipping reports, reconciliations, and general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate should possess at least a diploma or degree in Accounting, with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia is necessary, alongside knowledge of AUTOCOUNT software. This role also offers opportunities to prepare financial statements and assist in payroll management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of working experience in accounting.
• Experience in Shipping or Trading is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Payroll and Human Resource Policies.

Job description

Responsibilities

• To prepare shipping reports & input data into accounting system
• To reconcile shipping reports with accounting ledger
• To prepare invoices/debit notes
• To assist in day to day accounting operations assigned by immediate supervisor
• To process documents in Accounts Receivables or Account Payables.
• To perform reconciliation of accounts and other accounting functions.
• Perform general accounting data entry work.
• Assist in preparation of payment vouchers and checking payment details as required.
• Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and filing.
• Handle any ad-hoc functions and tasks as assigned by superior from time to time.
• Preparation of Company Financial Statements & Financial Analysis as required for management decision making & control. (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, Cash Flow, Agency Fees Anaysis & etc)
• Generating of Freight & Disbursement Reports & General Accounts for discharging agent's reporting responsibilities to various principals / liners
• Ensure that all accounts and accounts practices comply to the law and/or general accounting standards.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma / Degree (Higher / Advanced)
• Degree in Accounting or any Professional Accounting qualification
• Proficient in both spoken and written English & Bahasa Malaysia
• At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Experience in Shipping / Trading is an added advantages
• Experience in Payroll & Human Resource Policies and Practices
• Knowledge of computerized accounting system software - AUTOCOUNT and proficiency in MS office
• Dedicated and determined in meeting deadlines and targets
