Job summary

A leading resource management firm in Kuching is seeking a financial management professional to coordinate cash control, month-end closing, and budgeting. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with at least 2 years of experience in a commercial firm. Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills are essential.   • Coordinate the flow of work and perform duties personally or through supporting staff.

Snapshot Of The Role

Coordinates the flow of work by performing the following duties personally or through supporting staffs.

You Are Driven To
  • Cash Control, Cash Disbursement, General Journal
    • Ensure proper documentation.
    • Record and reconciles cash disbursement entries.
    • Maintain and post journal entries.
  • Month End Closing
    • Review the chart of accounts.
    • Ensure month end accounting entries is complete.
    • Reconcile debtor and creditor accounts.
    • Prepare monthly financial and management accounts timely.
    • Prepare sales analysis and aging report.
  • Costing
    • Prepare costing and price.
    • Prepare costing analysis for monthly meetings.
  • Internal Control
    • Ensure adequate internal control procedure is in place and make recommendation if revision is required such as discount weight/price, invoicing issues, system linkage, accounting codes, accounting access and etc.
    • Review customer, vendor and fixed assets cards.
    • Monitor financial indebtedness.
    • Coordinate monthly physical stock count, review and prepare stock variances report.
  • Statutory Documentation
    • Ensure all audit and tax schedules are prepared on time.
  • Budgeting
    • Prepare annual operational and administrative budget.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
  • At least 2 year(s) of working experience in commercial firm and costing.
  • Meticulous, highly organised, strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic working environment.
  • Experience in ERP shall be an added advantage.
  • Sarawakian shall be given the first priority.
