Education & Professional Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or MICPA is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in handling full set of accounts independently.
- Prior experience in construction / project-based accounting is an advantage.
Technical Knowledge
- Familiar with CP204 / CP204A, corporate tax, and audit processes.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g. SQL, AutoCount, UBS, SAP).
- Good command of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Job Scope – Senior Accountant
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare full set of accounts including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Handle month-end and year-end closing in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with MFRS, Companies Act 2016, LHDN, SST, and other statutory requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and company secretaries.
2. Taxation
- Prepare and review CP204 / CP204A and corporate tax computations.
- Handle SST, withholding tax, and other statutory tax matters.
- Ensure timely tax submissions and payments.
3. Budgeting & Financial Analysis
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Analyze financial performance and identify variances.
- Provide financial reports and insights to management.
4. Accounting Operations
- Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Review journal entries, payment vouchers, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure proper accounting records and supporting documents are maintained.
5. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and bank balances.
- Plan and manage payments to suppliers, contractors, and statutory bodies.
- Manage banking facilities and financing arrangements.
6. Internal Control & Audit
- Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Assist in internal and external audit exercises.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
7. Team Supervision
- Supervise and review work of Accounts Executives and junior accounting staff.
- Provide guidance and ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounting work.
8. System & Process Improvement
- Maintain and enhance accounting systems and processes.
- Support accounting system implementation or upgrades.
- Recommend improvements to increase efficiency and compliance.
9. Management & Ad-hoc Support
- Provide accounting and financial support for management decisions.
- Assist in ad-hoc financial reports and special assignments as required.
