A strategic telecommunications firm is seeking a Section Head for the Programme Management Office (PMO) in Kuching, Sarawak. This leadership role requires at least 15 years of project management experience and a strong background in telecommunications infrastructure projects. The Section Head, Programme Management Office (PMO), is responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and completion of projects across the organisation. This role ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to technical and quality standards. The Section Head fosters strong collaboration, drives continuous improvement, and ensures alignment between project outcomes and organisational goals.
Lead the delivery of projects in line with approved schedules, budgets, and quality and technical benchmarks.
Oversee project monitoring and provide timely, insight-driven reporting, including proactive risk identification and mitigation recommendations.
Strategically assign roles and accountabilities while cultivating a high-performance, results-driven culture.
Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing work methods, processes, and contract administration frameworks, including contractor appointment documentation.
Strengthen stakeholder relationships across clients, consultants, contractors, and internal divisions to ensure seamless project execution.
Conduct thorough project risk assessments and elevate critical matters to support informed management decisions.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree is an added advantage.
Minimum 15 years of professional experience in project management or related domains.
PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Demonstrated success in delivering complex, large-scale projects.
Strong leadership capabilities with experience developing and guiding high-performing teams.
Deep understanding of project management methodologies, governance, and frameworks.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills.
Proficiency in project management tools and technologies.
Strategic thinker with the ability to connect project outcomes to organisational objectives.
Strong background in telecommunications infrastructure projects (e.g. fibre networks, transmission systems, data centres, or network rollout) will be highly preferred, with good understanding of regulatory, technical, and operational requirements within the telecom industry.
Preference will be given to Sarawakian candidates.
