SAP FI (GL/Tax) Consultant

People Profilers is hiring on behalf of a global consulting firm for an experienced SAP FI (GL/Tax) Consultant based in KL, Malaysia.

Must be residing in KL in case needed to be onsite. Open to locals/expats.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the workstream's Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Identifies gaps, defines new processes, and guarantees consistency across the area.
  • Proposes creative business and technical solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensures timely delivery of allocated work packages within the workstream and reports progress to the Regional Deployment Lead. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Design and document business processes.
  • Specify user requirements
  • Evaluate potential solutions and write position papers
  • Present at business community workshops or ad hoc committees
  • Create test cases, documentation, and training
  • Develop and define transition plan
  • Adheres to workstream-specific project design guidelines.
  • Manages scope within allocated work packages, prioritizing requirements that provide value to the organization (Fit-For-Purpose).
  • Actively promotes best-practice process adoption using standard functionality.
  • Ensures high-quality work products and deliverables adhere to project documentation and tools standards.
  • Challenges the status quo and seeks breakthrough innovations.
  • Actively participates in technology implementation throughout its lifecycle.
  • Develops and maintains deep knowledge of industry trends and best practices (process, systems, etc.).
  • Promptly notify the work-stream lead of any delays or issues during task execution.
  • Identify and document concerns, analyze their impact, and provide ideas for solutions.
  • Support the Global ASPIRE Function.
  • Responsible for communicating with stakeholders, business and user communities, and leading change management efforts.
  • Collaborates with BPOs, BPMs, SMEs, IT, and others across workstreams and functional domains.
  • Collaborates with customers to achieve effective project delivery, handover, and closure.
  • Raise process and project issues to management.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of expertise in full-cycle ERP installs and support projects, including designing, developing, delivering, and managing end-user training.
  • At least 7 years of experience creating and implementing SAP Finance modules, including important integration with other SAP modules, understanding of GL and tax transactions, and SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC).
  • ERP certification (eg SAP S/4HANA) would be preferable
  • Proven implementation experience in numerous APAC countries, with a focus on local requirements.
  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical business is preferred.
  • SAP functional skills (process and system).
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment.
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • Professional and self-motivated, able to work independently, display initiative, keen to take responsibility and learn quickly on the job.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience of complex problem solving.
  • Open to standardization, centralization, and speed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicts.
