Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in similar role and knowledge of the events and wedding industry, and proven track record in venue sales.
  • A high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to work to short turnaround times, and work under pressure, with minimal supervision.
  • A good multi-tasker and time manager, handling various tasks and workload independently working to multiple deadlines.
  • Flexible with regards to working evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent IT skills and Microsoft Office, attention to details.
  • Warm individual with an outgoing personality; looking to join a fun and energetic team.
  • A good communicator, demonstrating the ability to sensitively adapt to changing circumstances and requirements of others, remaining calm under pressure.
  • MICE experience is required.
Responsibilities
  • To lead and manage the Weddings and Events team to deliver an exceptional customer experience and ensure the smooth running of the department, adhering to the vision "To become the leading wedding and events venue management hosting memorable experience".
  • To seek new and incremental business for events through a mixture of proactive and reactive sales.
  • To establish efficient systems and strategies to optimize business, deliver against targets and maintain the highest standard of customer service across the team.
  • To own the communication process, social media/online channel, promoting 1-Group Lifestyle Multi-Portfolio Event Venue in a positive light with key messages aimed at building loyalty and interaction.
  • Oversee the direction and management of the Weddings and Events team, ensuring they deliver on brief, to deadline, and to the highest quality to build a high performing team.
  • To lead the team in achieving the Events annual income targets through sales, actively seeking new clients to develop new opportunities.
  • Continually monitor sales performance, identify gaps in the diary and keep up to date with event industry trends.
  • Recognizing and targeting new and suitable opportunities using sales and marketing initiatives. Ensure all event documents and paperwork is accurate and in place, including event planning forms, delivery schedules, and hire agreements.
  • Coach, mentor and lead the team with clear direction and focus on their roles and responsibilities to achieve departmental ambitions.
  • Work with the Marketing Team to deliver a marketing strategy to promote the venue. This includes the management of social media platforms and blogs, writing promotional copy, producing and overseeing the distribution of effective marketing and sales material, digital marketing and RM campaigns, PR, advertising.
  • Calendar and yield management to maximize sales and profit at all opportunities.
  • Careful management of the busy events calendar, ensuring the best use of the venues spaces to maximize usage, and income for both public and private event opportunities.
  • To oversee the organization and management of all events ensuring rules are adhered to and that they are delivered to the very highest standard.
  • Ensure team data entry into Event Works is efficient to allow for accurate reporting.
  • To support the team where required with the operations of complex events and weddings.
  • To actively communicate, engage and conduct show-rounds with clients.
  • To maintain a sound knowledge of local competitors and new trends within the events Industry.
  • Encourage the team to input ideas to develop team processes, increase client satisfaction and improve venue operations.
