Job summary

A growing pharmaceutical company in Port Klang is seeking a Sales Manager with strong business development skills and at least 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry. Sales Manager (Food / Chemical Ingredients / Pharma)

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify market opportunities and convert leads into sales.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Ability to develop key customer relationships and manage accounts strategically.

Proactive problem‐solving attitude with resilience in achieving targets.

Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, GMP standards, or pharma supply chains is an added advantage.

Familiarity with logistics, export requirements, and product certifications (Halal, COA, MSDS, etc.) is a plus.

Ability to lead sales initiatives, plan market strategies, and manage sales pipelines.

EDUCATION

Diploma / Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related fields.

Candidates with science background (Chemistry / Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology / Food Science) are strongly encouraged.

Additional certifications in sales, marketing, or pharmaceutical regulations are beneficial.

SKILL

Strong business development and key account management skills.

Ability to prepare commercial proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.

Competent in CRM tools, sales reporting, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Good understanding of customer quality requirements (COA, specifications, batch traceability).

Excellent relationship management with internal departments (QA/QC, Production, Supply Chain).

Market research and competitor analysis skills.

Fluency in English & Bahasa Malaysia; Chinese is an advantage for regional market engagement.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Sales or Business Development (preferably within Pharmaceutical / Food Ingredients / Chemicals / Manufacturing industry).

Proven track record of achieving sales targets and establishing strategic partnerships.

Experience dealing with pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and regulatory bodies is highly preferred.

Experience handling technical products or regulated goods is an added advantage.

RESPONSIBILITY & AUTHORITY

Develop and execute sales strategies to grow the pharma grade salt business locally and regionally.

Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and customer visits.

Manage and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and contract manufacturers.

Prepare and deliver sales presentations, product briefings, and negotiations to secure contracts.

Collaborate with QA/QC, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure customer requirements are aligned with product capabilities (COA, batch traceability, production planning, logistics).

Coordinate with Supply Chain and Operations on delivery schedules, forecasting, and customer specifications.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to support management in strategic planning.

Prepare monthly sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates for management review.

Represent the company at exhibitions, conferences, and industry events when required.

Authority to negotiate pricing within approved margin ranges and submit proposals for management approval when above threshold.
