A leading automotive advertising firm in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Sales Manager to oversee branch operations, drive sales performance, and lead team training. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in sales management, with a strong background in automotive advertising to dealerships. Responsibilities include managing sales targets, developing advertising strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The position requires excellent organizational skills and a commitment to achieving results, alongside a proactive approach to team leadership.
Manage daily branch or team operations while consistently achieving and exceeding classified sales target.
Lead objection handling and training sessions with sales team to ensure they are capable of overcoming in-market challenges.
Develop, implement, and optimise sales strategies, tools, and operational processes to drive team performance and effective execution.
Deliver accurate and timely weekly reporting and sales forecasts.
Ensures advertised inventory, pricing, and offers are accurate, compliant, and up to date.
Oversees online vehicle listings across dealer website, OEM platforms, and third‑party marketplaces.
Monitors advertising performance metrics (leads, conversions, cost per lead, ROI and chat‑bot leads) and adjusts strategies accordingly.
Provide clear direction on advertising priorities, including featured vehicles, pricing, trim levels, and merchandising, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with OEM programs and dealership objectives.
Ensures all advertising complies with manufacturer standards, brand guidelines, and legal requirements.
Coordinates with inventory management to align advertising with stock levels and aging inventory.
Reviews and approves advertising content, messaging, and creative assets before release.
Manages or contributes to the dealership advertising budget and cost controls.
Supports sales team with advertising‑driven promotions, events, and campaigns.
Works with CRM and lead management systems to track advertising effectiveness and follow‑up performance.
Proactively performance‑manage the team to drive optimal individual and team performance.
Lead the induction and onboarding of new Account Managers/Executives team members.
Daily training of Account Managers/Executives – Sales process, negotiation, presentation, digital etc.
Ensure daily and weekly KPIs are achieved and sales pipelines are accurately maintained.
Daily commitment on classified revenues and CarlistBid dealers engagement.
Educate users to perform self‑service by uploading total inventories to iCarSuite system.
Coordinate the negotiation process for large client contracts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders within dealerships.
Ensure high service standards and customer satisfaction across clients and advertising agencies.
Seek market intelligence and feedback to the business on a regular basis to ensure we are developing and evolving our products & services and defining the Customer Marketing strategy and implementation.
Conduct sales role‑playing sessions using data‑driven scripts and sales pitches.
Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure all campaigns are delivered on time and to specification.
Work closely with Management and undertake additional duties or projects as required, addressing matters proactively, efficiently, and effectively.
Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive advertising to dealerships in Malaysia, including at least 3 years in people management.
At least 5 years offline experience in senior sales or sales management.
Strong knowledge of advertising processes, strategies, and campaign execution.
Excellent organisation, time management and communication skills.
Proficient in computer applications, internet, and software tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and email.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and presentation standards.
Strong numeracy skills and excellent command of English, including grammar and spelling.
