Job summary

A leading safety management firm in Penang is seeking a safety officer to ensure compliance with workplace safety and health regulations. You will be responsible for conducting daily inspections, organizing safety committee meetings, and ensuring all employees follow safe work practices. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of factory experience, a Diploma in Workplace Safety, and an SSS Certificate. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Job description

Ensure compliance of operations with Workplace Safety and Health/Environmental Control regulations and statutory requirements

Follow up with the committee site walk inspection findings for WSH Officer to close up the report and assisting WSH Officer on incident/accident investigation.

Responsible for daily checklists are properly documented and carry out mass toolbox meeting once a week.

Coordination with relevant site in-charge on improving the worksite safety and cleanliness.

Ensure supervisors and workers are following safe work procedures compliance.

Assist WSHO to organize monthly Safety Committee meetings and put up safety reports, including safety issues

Compiles all relevant reports and records and carry out daily safety inspection

Supervise all workers in providing safety measures and procedures in accordance with MOM Regulations

Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by superior from time to time

Requirements:

Min 3 year experience in factory

Min Diploma in workplace safety or equivalent

Must have SSS Certificate (Site Safety Supervisor)

Effectively enforce policies, rules and regulation

Accept responsibility for compliance with rules and regulations

Proactive with excellent interpersonal skills and analytical ability

Ability to work under pressures in a fast pace environment

Able to start work on short notice

Safety helmet, vest & safety shoes, ESD smock & laptop will be provided
