Job summary

A Mechanical & Engineering solutions provider in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Safety Officer to plan and supervise safety measures at work sites. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting training, and investigating incidents. The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in a relevant field and at least 2-3 years of experience in the construction industry. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience as Safety Officer in the Construction industry preferred.
• Able to lead and manage safety and health teams for multiple projects.
• Working knowledge of ISO standards and quality management system implementation is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and supervise safety matters at work sites.
• Ensure work sites comply with OSHA Act 1994 and safety policies.
• Conduct health & safety induction training programs for employees.
• Investigate accidents and submit reports to head office.

Job description

Responsibilities

To plan, assign and supervise safety matters and requirement for all work sites

To implement all policies, activities, procedure and instruction as relevant and requirement by the quality system

To ensure all work sites and offices are safe and in compliance with the OSHA Act 1994, CIDB requirements and company safety policies

To formulate, implement and maintain all health & safety policies, activities, procedures in the safety programs conforming to the requirement

Conducting Health & Safety related induction training programs to all employees as per required

Ensuring effective operation of safety management and compliance by all workers

To schedule, organize, conduct and supervise company’s Health & Safety committee and meetings

To conduct investigation into any accident or near miss occurrence at all sites and submit report to head office

To suggest corrective action and preventive methods or procedures to avoid reoccurrence of accidents at work site

To coordinate, monitor or conduct safety training on safety procedures at all work sites and to promote awareness on safety

To advice management on any changes in Health & Safety legislation.

To foster an understanding of injury prevention and damaged control

Keep up to date codes of practices and circulate any new Health & Safety literature or relevant information to all levels of employees

To prepare & submit documents including safe work method statement, height mitigation plan, logistic plan, risk assessment plan ect.

Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Environment and Occupation Health or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent, recognized by the department of Safety Health (DOSH) Malaysia

Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience and above working experiences as Safety Officer in the Construction industry preferably in data center

Able to lead and manage the safety and health teams for multiple projects

Working knowledge of ISO standards and the preparation, implementation and maintenance of the quality management system is an added advantage

Good communication skills, strong personality and positive attitude

Good working attitude, strong interpersonal and leadership.
