The Safety & Health Officer (SHO) will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel involved in the Large Scale Solar Project and must be willing to be based in Kuala Ketil, Kedah.
Safety Program Oversight:
- Monitor and discuss safety programs and efforts with on-site subcontractors and employees.
- Ensure that safety is ingrained in our culture by maintaining proper safety documents and information.
- Advocate for and enforce the adherence to safety protocols specific for solar projects.
Safety and Health Inspections:
- Collaborate with Site Safety Supervisors and the Safety Team to conduct documented safety and health inspections.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of compliance reports, ensuring alignment with local and international safety standards.
Coordination of Protective Measures:
- Work closely with Project Supervision to ensure that necessary protective equipment and safety materials are available and utilized.
- Ensure the availability of adequate first aid materials and that safety documents are visibly posted on-site.
Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Investigate all injuries and review accident reports comprehensively.
- Coordinate corrective measures with employees and maintain a log of injuries and illnesses.
- Implement preventive measures to avoid the recurrence of similar incidents.
Hazard Minimization and Policy Enforcement:
- Identify and mitigate construction hazards specific to floating PV installations.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures using the company’s disciplinary policy to ensure compliance.
Safety Meetings and Training:
- Conduct and coordinate daily or weekly Project Safety "Toolbox" meetings to discuss safety practices, potential hazards, and preventative measures.
- Provide ongoing training to enhance safety knowledge and awareness among all project personnel.
Documentation and Tracking:
- Maintain accurate records of all safety-related meetings, programs, safety pre-plans, inspections, correspondence, directives, and citations.
- Forward copies of these documents for centralized tracking and record-keeping.
Key Competencies:
- Possession of a Green Book Safety & Health Officer (SHO) certificate.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in safety documentation and reporting.
- Problem Solving: Proactively address and resolve safety issues.
- Leadership: Foster a culture of safety and lead by example.
- Communication: Effectively communicate safety protocols and expectations to all levels of personnel.
