Job summary

A leading construction company in Malaysia is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to oversee safety trainings and inspections at their sites in Selangor and Terengganu. Candidates should have a minimum of Diploma or Professional Certificate recognized by DOSH/NIOSH and at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry. Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English are required. This role focuses on maintaining safety compliance and preventing workplace incidents.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma or Professional Certificate approved by DOSH/NIOSH.
  • Possess a valid NIOSH Green Book registered with JKKP.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct safety trainings to staff and contractors.
  • Carry out regular safety inspections.
  • Conduct safety committee meetings and audits.
  • Investigate injuries and implement preventive measures.
  • Ensure compliance with permit to work requirements.
  • Identify construction hazards and communicate safety protocols.

Safety & Health Officer (Selangor / Terengganu)

Plan and conduct safety trainings to staff, contractors etc

Carry out regular safety inspection to ensure safe work methods and maintenance of safety and health requirements

Conduct weekly/ monthly safety committee meetings and conduct periodic safety audit at site to ensure safety compliance

Investigate all injuries and review accident reports, analyse and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence of similar incidents

Ensure compliance with permit to work procedures requirements

Identify and mitigate construction hazards and effectively communicate safety protocols and expectations to all levels of personnel

Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma or Professional Certificate approved by DOSH/ NIOSH
  • Must possess a valid NIOSH Green Book registered with JKKP
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry
