Job summary

A leading construction company in Malaysia is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to enforce safety regulations across all work sites. The role involves conducting safety inductions, preparing safety reports, and ensuring compliance with occupational safety legislation. Candidates must be registered Safety Officers with relevant experience and skills in communication and supervision. Qualifications

  • Registered Safety Officer with DIOSH/NIOSH/JKKP holding a Green Book.
  • Minimum 5 years safety & health experience, preferably in high-rise construction.
  • Independent and able to perform detailed inspections and assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce Occupational Safety & Health Act across all work sites.
  • Conduct safety inductions, briefings, audits and regular safety visits.
  • Prepare Monthly Safety Audit Reports for management.

Job description
Safety & Health Officer (SHO) – Responsibilities

Enforce Occupational Safety & Health Act (Osha) across all work sites.

Formulate and set up safety & health policies and committees.

Conduct safety inductions, briefings, audits and regular safety visits.

Inspect worksite hazards and prepare risk assessments.

Liaise with JKKP/DOSH and authorized departments (Bomba, Jabatan Kesihatan, CIDB etc.).

Prepare Monthly Safety Audit Reports for management.

Attend safety & health meetings and other meetings as requested.

Work closely with the Project Manager on safety requirements.

Supervise observance of legal requirements and promote safe conduct of work.

Advise management of changes in safety legislation and occupational matters.

Determine accident causes and recommend preventative measures.

Keep up-to-date with codes of practice and circulate relevant safety information.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Manager Safety & Health /Managing Director.

Requirements
  • Registered Safety Officer with DIOSH/NIOSH/JKKP holding a Green Book.
  • Diploma, Degree in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years safety & health experience, preferably in high‑rise construction.
  • Independent, good communication and supervisory skills.
