A facilities management company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to oversee health, safety, and environmental policies across operations. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems for compliance.
• Liaise with management, vendors, and contractors for safety.
• Ensure proper functioning of emergency systems.
• Maintain compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Conduct emergency response drills and safety training.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Supervise high-risk work activities and issue permits-to-work.
• Monitor use and maintenance of PPE across teams.
• Maintain detailed records of incidents and inspections.

Familiarity with local safety regulations, fire codes, and risk management practices.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies across all facility operations and maintenance activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems (fire protection, HVAC, electrical, elevators, etc.) for compliance and hazard identification.
• Liaise with building management, tenants, vendors, and contractors to ensure safe practices in daily operations and maintenance.
• Ensure proper functioning of emergency systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers, emergency lighting, and evacuation routes.
• Maintain compliance with local building codes, fire safety regulations, and occupational health standards.
• Develop and conduct emergency response drills, evacuation plans, and safety training for staff, security, cleaners, and service contractors.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses within the premises and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Supervise high-risk work activities (working at height, confined space, hot work, etc.) and issue appropriate permits-to-work (PTW).
• Monitor use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across facilities teams and contractors.
• Maintain detailed records of incidents, inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
