A local safety management firm in Pahang seeks a qualified Occupational Safety and Health Officer. The role involves implementing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and providing training on health and safety best practices. Candidates should hold a relevant degree and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience along with certification. The position offers a competitive salary and accommodation at the plantation site, while requiring occasional travel to Chemomoi Karak site.
Implementing and monitoring safety protocols, procedures and policies to create a safe work environment.
Conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Provide training and education to employees on occupational health and safety best practices.
Investigating and reporting on any incidents, accidents or near misses and implementing corrective actions.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and legislation.
Collaborating with estate managers, site supervisors, and other OSH Committee to promote a strong safety culture.
Maintaining comprehensive records and documentation related to health and safety activities.
Coordinate all the environment activities with EQA Regulation, Local Authority and the project requirement.
Liaise with the relevant authorities regarding Environmental matters.
To advise management on all matters pertaining to Environmental issue.
Conduct regular checks to identify risks, ensure compliance and recommend improvements.
Liaisons with sub-contractors, government bodies and local authorities on all Environmental matters.
Coordinate with regulating bodies such as DOSH , DOA , DOE and Forestry Department .
Maintain records of permits , audits and training.
Degree in Occupational safety & Health or Degree in relevant field or higher with a Safety & Health Officer Certificate or Safety & Health Coordinator Certificate with minimum 3 years relevant working experience.
Advantage for registered DOSH as Safety & Health Officer and Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWAM)
Strong knowledge of occupational health, safety and environment regulations, best practices and industry standards.
Manage OSHA and DOE regulatory reporting and record keeping requirements.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders including government agencies.
Good leadership, strong strong analytical, communication as well as interpersonal skills, prudent, result-oriented and a team player.
Ability to manage time and workload effectively and work under pressure.
Willing to work in Tersang Raub, Pahang and Travel to Chemomoi Karak site as and when required.
Good command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
