A leading construction company in Gelang Patah is seeking a qualified Safety and Health Officer (Registered with DOSH). The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on site. Responsibilities include advising project teams, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and preparing reports. Candidates should have strong knowledge of Malaysian safety legislation and prior experience in safety management. This role is essential for maintaining safety and health standards at the project site.
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Safety and Health Officer (Registered with DOSH – Green Book Holder) to join our project team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations at the project site, as well as promoting a strong safety culture within the organization.
Advise project teams—including Client, Consultants, and subcontractors—on safety regulations such as the Factories & Machinery Act 1967, Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, Environmental Quality Act 1974, and other statutory requirements by relevant local authorities and government agencies.
Implement safety activities and programs as outlined in the Safety & Health Management System.
Establish, review, and update Job Safety & Health Analysis (JHA).
Identify and assess applicable legal and other requirements related to business processes, safety, and health risks.
Maintain and update the Safety & Health Legal and Other Requirements Register.
Conduct daily site inspections to identify safety non-compliance, unsafe acts, and unsafe workplace conditions; take immediate corrective actions when needed.
Investigate accidents, near-misses, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisonings, or diseases at the project site.
Collect, maintain, and analyze safety-related statistics and incident records.
Prepare and submit monthly safety & health reports, including man-hours worked, accident frequency rates, severity rates, and safety program updates.
Coordinate with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) during site inspections, audits, and safety-related activities.
Issue Permit to Work, environmental instructions, safety/health directives, and penalties for non-compliance.
Support the implementation of ISO systems, including ISO 9001:2015, and comply with the company’s Quality Manual.
Perform any additional duties necessary to ensure the safety, health, security, and welfare of the project site.
Registered Safety Officer with DOSH (Green Book Holder) – Mandatory
Strong knowledge of relevant Malaysian safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
Experience in construction or project-site safety management is an added advantage.
Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proactive, responsible, and able to work independently.
