Job summary

A construction firm seeks a Safety & Health Officer in Gelang Patah, Malaysia, to develop and implement safety programs across project sites. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with Safety & Health regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture. Applicants must possess at least an Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, a Valid Green Book, and have a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in the construction industry. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Job description

Coordinate and implement Safety & Health (S&H) programs across all project sites.

Provide expert advice and guidance on S&H practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures.

Ensure compliance with statutory S&H regulations and company safety standards while promoting a proactive safety culture.

Monitor and report S&H performance; develop S&H management plans, safety calendars, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Conduct S&H training, toolbox meetings, and facilitate monthly safety meetings.

Liaise with relevant authorities (e.g. JKKP, CIDB, BOMBA, KKM) and ensure timely resolution of site-related issues.

Prepare and submit monthly S&H reports accurately and on time.

Support incident investigations and documentation.

Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

Possess at least an Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field.

Valid Green Book (Registered Safety & Health Officer).

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably with exposure to factory or building projects.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, and project teams.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
