A leading logistics company in Klang City is seeking a Manager for Risk & Compliance to establish and enforce robust internal controls across operations in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of Malaysian regulatory requirements and demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills. Responsibilities include leading compliance monitoring programs, conducting investigations, and ensuring alignment with Group standards to maintain a high compliance culture. The Manager – Risk & Compliance is accountable for establishing, strengthening, and enforcing a robust internal control and compliance framework across Malaysia operations. The role has primary responsibility for designing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls, as well as leading investigations into non‑compliance, misconduct, and control failures.
This position serves as the key authority for risk and compliance matters in Malaysia, ensuring alignment with Group standards while exercising independent judgment in monitoring, escalation, and enforcement. The role works closely with senior management to embed a strong control culture and prevent recurrence of compliance breaches.
Establish and maintain effective internal control frameworks across operational, financial, and compliance areas.
Identify control gaps, weaknesses, or circumvention of procedures and drive remediation.
Review and enhance controls in response to incidents, audits, and regulatory changes.
Lead structured compliance monitoring programmes, including periodic and risk‑based reviews.
Monitor adherence to policies, SOPs, and approval authorities, with focus on high‑risk areas.
Escalate material breaches and provide concise reporting on trends, root causes, and corrective actions.
Lead independent investigations into suspected non‑compliance, misconduct, fraud, or control overrides.
Ensure investigations are objective, well‑documented, and concluded with clear findings and recommendations.
Track remediation and assess recurrence to validate effectiveness of corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
Act as the primary liaison with regulators, auditors, and external advisors.
Monitor regulatory developments and translate requirements into practical controls.
Identify and assess key compliance and operational risks and ensure appropriate mitigation.
Maintain risk registers, incident logs, and breach records with timely escalation to Group.
Support business continuity, crisis management, and risk assessment initiatives
Drive implementation and enforcement of Group policies, SOPs, and control standards.
Partner with business units to formalize processes and strengthen control discipline.
Provide compliance advisory support and deliver targeted training and awareness programmes.
Lead coordination of internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness.
Oversee timely closure of audit findings relating to control weaknesses and non‑compliance.
Continuously enhance monitoring and assurance mechanisms based on audit and investigation outcomes.
