Qualifications

  • MBBS / MD or equivalent from recognized institutions.
  • Registered with MMC and possess a valid Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Experience in private or public hospitals is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description
About the Role

To treat patients in capacity of RMO. To provide medical cover for emergencies and to refer cases to specific Consultants on the roster.

Responsibilities
  • To record in a comprehensive way, all patient treatments in the patients’ notes and to maintain contact with the Consultant and the nursing staff over the treatment given to the patient.
  • Complete Insurance Claims Reports for cases seen at A&E and for cases seen by locum Medical officers.
  • To attend to all patients in the A&E within the time frame specified in A&E MO Key Performance Index (KPI).
  • Alert to target area of improvement of A&E and MO KPI plan implemented by management.
  • Read and understand the circular sent by Head of Department and give comment whenever possible/necessary.
  • Together with Nursing Administration, ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Accident and Emergency Department.
  • Assist Consultants to review cases.
  • Attend Emergency Resuscitation Drills.
  • Participates in in-house training programs for various disciplines of staff.
  • Involve in A&E administrative duty delegated by Head of Department.
  • To review in-patients with verbal order from consultant.
  • To inform the consultant physician on patient progress after reviewing patient and assist in coordinating medical care.
  • To ensure all management details are carried out in accordance to admitting consultants.
  • Deliver emergency care for in-patient during code blue. This should include resuscitation, intubation and calling relevant medical professionals for help in order to take over for subsequent care.
  • Review patient in the ward and discharges patient with details of take-home medication if request to do so by treating consultant.
  • Liaise with relevant bodies e.g Blood Banks, Consultants in other Medical Centres, when consultant is not around and patient needs urgent arrangement for subsequent care.
  • Issue Dangerously ill list (DIL) on terminally ill cases on Consultants orders.
  • In the event of death, ensure transfer to mortuary if arrangements take more than 2 hours.
  • Perform any other duties, or participate in committees or projects, that is assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications
  • MBBS / MD or equivalent from recognized institutions.
  • Registered with MMC and possess a valid Annual Practicing Certificate.
Required Skills
  • Substantial hands-on experience in Accident & Emergency unit in established Private Medical Centres or major public hospital.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Other language or dialect is an added advantage.
