A leading construction company in Malaysia is urgently hiring a Resident Engineer (C&S). In this role, you will supervise, inspect, and coordinate site works to ensure compliance with project schedules and quality standards. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience in site supervision. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is essential. This position is offered on a contract basis, renewable according to project needs.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Supervise, inspect, and coordinate site works carried out by contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
Monitor and witness site testing activities and ensure proper documentation and record keeping.
Prepare, issue, and monitor construction work schedules for site personnel.
Inspect and verify the quality of materials delivered and used on site, ensuring adequacy and availability of resources at all times.
Calculate, check, and control quantities of materials, equipment, and supplies in accordance with approved specifications.
Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate closely with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain high standards of workmanship and quality.
Maintain accurate and detailed site records of construction activities and submit weekly progress reports to the Project Manager.
Identify site issues, construction risks, and non-conformances, and propose effective corrective and mitigation solutions.
Ensure minimal material wastage and maintain good housekeeping practices at site.
Ensure projects are completed within approved timelines and budgets, in compliance with statutory requirements, industry standards, and project-specific procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in site supervision, preferably with a property developer and/or construction contractor.
Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, or Professional Qualification in Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and basic computer applications.
Familiar with local building regulations, construction methods, materials, and testing & inspection procedures.
Strong understanding of project implementation processes and site coordination.
Good time management, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Willing to travel and/or relocate based on project requirements.
Position offered on a contract basis, renewable subject to project needs and performance.
