Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of accountants, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Ensure timely and accurate closing of books, reconciliations, and audit readiness across all business units
  • Manage the end-to-end accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger operations
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements in Malaysia
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies to enhance accuracy, transparency, and risk mitigation
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to inform strategic decision-making
  • Implement and optimize accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Provide financial insights and management reports to senior leadership to support business performance evaluation
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred
  • 2–5 years of progressive experience in accounting management, preferably within a multinational or mid‑sized organization in Malaysia
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, statutory compliance, and audit coordination under MFRS and IFRS
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian tax laws, including income tax, GST, and withholding tax regulations
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience in team management, mentorship, and performance evaluation
  • Detail‑oriented with a high level of integrity, accountability, and time management
