Job description

We are recruiting a Remote Operations Engineer for our Remote Operations Center in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya. The role will be responsible for the continuous monitoring and remotely operating multiple plant operations through a state-of-the-art process control system. Remote Operation Engineer will be reporting to the Remote Operations Supervisor.

Key Focus Areas the Role Will Include:

Dynamically collaborate with peers and other departments to ensure the highest standards in safety, environmental performance, quality, and efficiency are achieved.

Maintain shift operation records, logs, and exchange information with peers during shift changes or otherwise as necessary.

Communicate with onsite operations personnel, maintenance technicians, supervisors, process engineers and others to coordinate production and quality requirements.

Monitor product quality throughout the process, collaborating with lab technicians and making decisions required to maintain product quality.

Monitor and control multiple operating processes at multiple geographic locations simultaneously.

Continuously monitor and analyze various process trends and information; apply knowledge gained to define problems, establish facts, and determine valid conclusions to drive process efficiencies and improvements.

Collaborate on various special projects to continuously improve the remote operations program globally.

Identify, develop, continuously improve, and communicate the best available process practices within Graymont.

Collaborate with the company’s Process Engineering and Control & Instrument group to continuously expand and improve the automation strategy.

Assist various departments and functional groups to investigate and find the root cause of problems.

The role will require you to work extended hours as necessary to meet urgent deadlines or to ensure resolution of problems.

Shift work is required, with 12-hour rotating shifts between day and night shifts to maintain 24-hour continuous operations. Holiday and weekend coverage is required.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes and qualifications:

The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications in engineering or technical qualification or equivalent.

Previous experience demonstrating an advanced process control background will be highly regarded.

A prominent level of analytical and problem-solving combined with excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex problems and implement solutions in a short period.

You have excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft programs. Electrical, PLC programming, instrumentation, automation, and HMI controls background.

Experience in a control room and/or working with control systems involving raw materials, coal, lime, clinker, and cement production preferred.

An excellent written and oral communication skills in English is highly preferred.
