We are currently seeking a high-caliber professional to join our Corporate Banking department under the Group Corporate & Institutional Banking division as a Relationship Manager or Senior Relationship Manager.

The Role

A successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of designated Corporate Banking clients (both existing and new prospects) to achieve key performance indicators.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and originate new borrowing relationships, understanding clients deeply (Know Your Customer) and negotiating key issues such as facility structure, pricing, security arrangements, covenants, and terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive credit applications for approval by relevant authorities. For cases requiring EXCO review, prepare a summary highlighting purpose, key risks, mitigants, and justifications.
  • Coordinate with Group Company Secretary to ensure accurate and timely finalization of minutes and update matters arising accordingly.
  • Liaise with Credit Support & Administration (CSA) and Group Legal to ensure swift issuance of Letters of Offer or Advice and proper security documentation per approved terms for efficient facility implementation and drawdown.
  • Monitor covenants, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance and closure.
  • Ensure timely submission of annual reviews.
  • Seek proper extensions through Expired Limit Extension (ELE) for reviews not completed on time, with appropriate justifications.
  • Ensure facilities are fully utilized and accounts are properly managed.
  • Conduct regular reputation checks on clients in the market.
  • Perform regular marketing calls for annual reviews, credit solicitation, transaction banking opportunities, and early risk detection.
  • Conduct quarterly stress tests on existing portfolios.
  • Where applicable, analyze financial results of publicly listed companies on Bursa Malaysia quarterly.
  • Monitor corporate announcements of Bursa Malaysia-listed companies daily and discuss findings with the team for relationship enhancement or risk mitigation.
  • Provide proactive customer service with prompt responses to client requests.
  • Engage in cross-selling of AFG products in collaboration with Investment Banking, Transaction Banking, and Treasury, meeting KPIs.
  • Identify early warning signals and high-risk accounts, reporting as necessary.
  • For settled accounts, submit cancellation CAS for credit underwriting and record-keeping.
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks assigned by management.

Skills & Job Requirements

  • Strong understanding of credit and risk analysis processes.
  • Good market knowledge and intelligence.
  • Excellent sales management and negotiation skills, especially with middle to senior management of large corporate clients.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of corporate & commercial banking credit and risk analysis experience for Relationship Managers; at least 6 years for Senior Relationship Managers.
