Regional Market Research Business Development Manager

The Regional Market Research Business Development Manager (‘Business Manager’) is responsible for securing and retaining target market research client accounts through professional, consultative sales activities. Based upon a deep understanding of healthcare client research needs, the business manager will propose market leading research solutions and methodologies (primary and secondary, qual and quant) that leverage the MIMS audience database and financial targets. The Business Manager will also contribute to the overall leadership and development of the MIMS market research business and solutions – including new product development.

Key responsibilities of this position include:
  • P&L owner for the full Market Research portfolio; lead regional BD to deliver revenue growth while meeting/exceeding profit and revenue targets.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure regional accounts; build strong client relationships and close contracts/projects.
  • Partner with local Business Managers and Business Directors to drive proposals, pitches, and presentations, ensuring alignment with MR objectives.
  • Develop and market MIMS Insights solutions and products to industry, keeping offerings competitive and relevant.
  • Provide training and guidance to local Business Managers to strengthen MR literacy and capabilities.
  • Prepare proposals, budget estimates, and lead negotiations with clients and procurement teams to secure profitable growth.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and clients need to inform account planning, innovative methodologies, and new product development.
  • Collaborate with MedComms, MPF, and strategy teams to integrate MR into multi-channel solutions and client engagements.
  • Take ownership of MR initiatives with an entrepreneurial mindset, contributing to the overall leadership and growth of the MR business.
  • Contribute to the overall leadership and development of the MIMS market research business and solutions.
Key Requirements:
  • At least 3-5 years of business development experience within a market research agency or similar, ideally focused on healthcare.
  • Strong sales drive with proven track record for success.
  • Experience managing a matrix structure to achieve results.
  • Strategically, highly motivated and entrepreneurial minded with the ability to identify and capitalise on business opportunities.
  • Ability to work with others to develop winning multi-channel communications proposals.
  • Excellent written communication, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Financial and business acumen.
