A multinational corporation based in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a legal practitioner to provide support and advice to various functions across Southeast Asia. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, focusing on corporate commercial matters and contract negotiations. The role includes drafting contracts and managing legal training on business impacts of new laws. A strong command of English is essential, and understanding Chinese is a plus.
Provide legal support and business-focused legal advice to various functions in the markets within Southeast Asia and Pacific Regions.
Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and will be expected to engage confidently and effectively with stakeholders and legal teams.
Work with different Business Managers and other in-house Legal Team to ensure successful operations in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and company policies.
Draft, review and negotiate all sorts of commercial contracts.
Provide legal solutions to support business initiatives.
Assist in managing company secretarial matters.
Draft, review and support company policies and guidelines;
Provide legal training and advise on new laws and their business impacts.
LLB or equivalent and admitted as a legal practitioner in Malaysia.
At least 5 years post qualification experience (a combination of in-house experience with multinational corporation and private practice with a reputable law firm is preferred).
Experience in corporate commercial/contract works (including negotiation) and handling of general legal matters.
Experience in developing legal templates, processes and policies, and managing risks and disputes.
Strong negotiation, planning and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent command of spoken and written English. Good understanding of Chinese will be an asset.
Strong analytical skills, able to work both independently and as a team player.
