Job summary

A construction company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to manage financial aspects of construction projects. This full-time role involves preparing claims, attending technical meetings, and coordinating with various stakeholders. Ideal candidates should possess a Diploma or Degree in quantity surveying, have at least 2 years of relevant experience, and be proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Computer literacy and skills in Excel, Word, and AUTOCAD are essential.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare progress/final claims and variation orders.
• Attend technical meetings with clients and contractors.
• Prepare progress reports and track site costs.

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our thriving construction team at Eureka Waja Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring cost-effective and efficient project delivery. This is a full-time position with opportunities for career progression within our dynamic organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare progress/final claim/final account/variation order
• Prepare method of statement and other relevant paperwork
• Taking off quantities
• Prepare/checked, sub-contractor claim
• Prepare the certs of interim payment for sub-contractor
• Attend technical meeting with client/main contractor
• Co-ordinate/liaise with account, client/consultant and sub-contractor/supplier
• Prepare progress report
• Keep track the actual & variation costs happen at site. Highlight if exceed the budget set.
• Attend site valuation and tender interview/site visit
• Liaise with site person regarding the works status
• Prepare tender submission, quotation, cost estimation and built-up rates

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma / Degree in quantity surveying or its equivalent.
• Good follow-up and organization skills.
• Minimum at least 2 Year(s) of working experience in the construction field.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Computer literate and proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Words.
• Good in measurement & taking-off
• Able to use AUTOCAD is added advantage
• Good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience or possess ability in technical negotiation with different stakeholders.
• Able to work under pressure, independently and meet tight deadline.
• Self-motivated and independently.
• Possess own transport & willing to travel from the office to various sites as required.
