Job summary

A leading civil infrastructure firm in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Contract Manager. This role focuses on managing financial health for major road and bridge construction schemes. Responsibilities include cost planning, tendering and procurement, contract administration, and post-contract services. The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree and preferably has experience in infrastructure projects, with independent work capability both in the office and on-site.

Qualifications

  • Prefer candidates with infrastructure experience (earthwork, roadwork, bridge, railway, etc.).
  • Able to work independently in the office, on site, and visit clients for meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.

  • Administer contracts and manage any variations or changes to the project scope.
  • Conduct interim valuations and prepare progress payments for contractors.

Quantity Surveyor / Contract Manager (Infrastructure)

We are recruiting on behalf of a leader in delivering complex civil infrastructure projects across Malaysia. We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor or Contract Manager to manage the financial health of our major road and bridge construction schemes.

About the job

You will primarily be responsible for project tender & pre-post contract management in infrastructure projects.

  • Cost Planning & Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, including initial estimates and final costs. Provide accurate advice on cost and procurement strategy throughout the project life-cycle.
  • Tendering & Procurement: Manage the tender process, including preparation of bills of quantities, reviewing contractor bids, and negotiating contracts. Work closely with clients and contractors to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed-upon terms. Manage any variations or changes to the project scope and evaluate the financial impact.
  • Valuation & Payment: Conduct interim valuations and prepare progress payments for contractors and subcontractors. Ensure accurate valuations of completed work for payment certification.
  • Post-Contract Services: Provide post-contract cost control and management, including final accounts preparation, settlement of claims, and cost reconciliation.
About the manager / team

You will be reporting to the Contract Manager / HOD who comes with many years of experience with the organisation.
