A design consultancy firm located in Selangor, Malaysia, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to prepare detailed cost estimates and manage procurement for interior design projects. Responsibilities include tracking project expenses, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with designers. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience, a relevant diploma or degree, and strong skills in negotiation and communication. Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates for design materials, furnishings, and finishes, and develop project budgets.
Tendering & Procurement: Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage the procurement of design elements.
Contract Administration: Prepare and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance and resolving issues.
Cost Control & Reporting: Track project expenses and provide regular financial updates to stakeholders.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with interior designers and project managers to align costs with design specifications.
Risk Management & Value Engineering: Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising design quality.
Education: Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience: 1+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in interior design projects. Candidates with no prior experience are welcomed to apply.
Skills: Strong knowledge of design materials, finishes, and procurement. Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in cost management software and MS Excel.
