A leading interior design firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a skilled cost estimator to prepare detailed estimates for design and renovation projects. The role involves developing budgets, evaluating contractor quotations, and managing contracts to ensure project compliance and cost efficiency. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and hold a Professional Certificate or higher. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is essential, along with the ability to source materials effectively.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for interior design and renovation projects.
Develop budgets, cost plans, and preliminary pricing based on design concepts.
Analyse project drawings, specifications, and materials to determine accurate costing.
Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), tender documents, and material take-offs.
Evaluate quotations from contractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
Prepare, review, and manage contracts, variation orders (VO), and progress claims.
Ensure all contract terms, specifications, and pricing are followed throughout the project.
Advise management on contractual matters, risks, and compliance.
Source and evaluate materials, finishes, and products required for projects.
Track project expenditures and monitor cost performance against budget.
Assist in the overall administrative matters of various contracts and subcontractor work.
Source for suppliers and specialist sub-contractors.
Familiar with interior fit (residential, retails, furniture)
Job Requirements / Qualification:
Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, any field.
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English.
At least 2 Year(s) of working experience in the related field
