Yon Sang Builders Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Johor Bahru, Johor. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring efficient cost control and maximising profitability. What you’ll be doing

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects
• Analyse construction plans, drawings, and specifications to quantify materials, labour, and equipment required
• Monitoring and controlling project costs, providing regular updates and forecasts to the project management team
• Negotiating and administering construction contracts, subcontracts, and variations
• Resolving contractual and commercial disputes, ensuring the company’s interests are protected
• Providing technical advice and support to the construction team, contributing to the overall success of projects
• Prepare progress reports and invoices for clients
• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

What we’re looking for

• Diploma, Degree or Professional Qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Minimum 2‑5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
• Proficient in the use of quantity surveying software and computer applications
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Thorough understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles
• Familiarity with local construction regulations and standards
