Job description

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems and food safety systems for production, packing and warehouse operations
• High proportion of time spent on the floor with checks, to bring information back to the quality group through following a standardized daily routine. (BCOS DDS process per example)
• Oversee daily shop floor quality control activities including ensuring adherence to GMP, GWP and regulations.
• Conduct shift /area daily checks of production operations, finished products, CCPs, OPRPs, sanitation procedures, pest control and trends of product quality.
• Conduct on-going on-the-job training (OJT) of manufacturing, packing and warehouse teams on quality procedures, GMP, GWP, HACCP and foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Provide real time support to production, packing and warehouse teams to address quality issues. Guide teams on non-conformance and corrective action processes, ensuring timely resolutions for non-conforming and block products.
• Analyze quality data and prepare reports on a shift basis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Investigating complaints or issues related to respective departments. Helping to provide information to flesh out RCA and CAPAs
• Support the implementation and sustainability of corrective action associated with all gaps identified in the internal and external audits.
• Provide support for any food safety incident.
• Act as the operational bridge to assist with effective and efficient new and transferred product execution.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or Food Science or equivalent (or engineering degree with 5 plus years in food quality assurance)
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in food safety to include formal training in HACCP.
• Formal training in Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) food safety standards, preferably FSSC22000 or British Retail Consortium (BRC).
• Strong written & verbal communication skills, analytical ability, leadership strengths and ability to work effectively with a team are required (computer software skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint required).
• Solid knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Pathogen Environmental Monitoring and Facility/Equipment Design.
• Ability to multi-task, drive multiple projects to completion.
