Job summary

A leading construction firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Quality Management professional to oversee the implementation of its Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in property development and construction quality management, with specific expertise in conducting Pre-Delivery Inspections for high-rise residential projects. Candidates must possess strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of QLASSIC requirements, and the ability to work independently to deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of related working experience, with 3 years in property development/construction quality management.
  • Experience in conducting and completing Pre-Delivery Inspection for high-rise residential projects.
  • Knowledge of QLASSIC requirements and relevant codes of practice.

Job description
Responsibilities

Promote and implement the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) to project(s) and department(s).

Conduct & report implementation plan for the QLASSIC throughout project lifecycle.

Enforcement of Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) across organization, including but not limited to the following:

  • Facilitate Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and highlight findings to relevant parties via routine meeting and briefing.
  • Schedule and conduct practical training session(s) on PDI’s requirements to all relevant staff.
  • Maintain high level of consistent assessment practices as guided.
  • Timely prepare PDI reports and maintain all relevant records.
  • Timely monitor the progress of rectification works prior to conduct reinspection activities.
  • Efficiently and effectively conduct PDI activities to meet set objective(s) within required timeline given by management.

Conduct and report quality assessment and inspection findings on works and products at agreed interval throughout construction periods.

Monitor and ensure quality assessment / inspection carried out to meet project specification, drawings and requirements from relevant code of practices.

Timely report on quality issue at project level and follow up to act accordingly.

Conduct internal quality audit and any other quality related assessments (or inspection) to ensure QMS implementation are effectively implemented at all levels.

Ensure that corrective actions’ requirements are enforced and fulfilled on a timely basis.

Report regularly to superiors on the progress of the works and operational issues encountered to complete assignments especially in respect of discrepancies, defective, outstanding or non-conforming works or delayed works.

Implement any and all related policies, procedures and work instructions as so defined in the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS).

Requirements
  • Bachelor/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry related working experience, with minimally 3 years of industry experiences related to property development and/or construction process and quality management.
  • Minimally conduct and complete Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) exercise for 2 highrise residential projects.
  • Preferably certified and registered QLASSIC assessor by CIDB, Malaysia.
  • Knowledge and experience in coordinating architectural and interior design (ID) works will be an advantage.
  • Well-versed with QLASSIC’s requirements and relevant code of practices.
  • Experience to conduct Pre-Delivery Inspection.
  • Experience auditor for Quality Management System / ISO 9001.
  • Excel in problem solving, coordination and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate and must proficient in both written and spoken English.
  • Independent to deliver high quality works under minimum supervision to meet work schedule.
