Job summary

A leading construction firm in Johor is seeking an experienced Engineer (M&E) to manage QA/QC procedures. The role involves overseeing inspections, testing, and documentation while ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards. You will be responsible for planning and executing all testing and commissioning activities, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring systems are fully functional and ready for operational handover. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.

Job description

Engineer (M&E) manages QA/QC procedures to ensure all materials and workmanship comply with project specifications and regulatory standards. This involves overseeing inspections, testing, and documentation while coordinating closely with stakeholders. Ultimately, you are responsible for planning and executing all testing and commissioning (T&C) activities to ensure systems are fully functional and ready for operational handover.

• Monitor actual quality implementation at site involving Project Quality Plan (PQP) to ensure the established Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 is implemented and maintained at all level within the project organisation.
• Ensure Inspection and Testing Plan (ITP) for various trades are carried out accordingly with respective parties involved.
• Coordinate and work with resident engineer and clerk of work to ensure site quality issues are addressed.
• Liaise with subcontractor and suppliers on matters pertaining to ensure compliance with all quality procedures.
• Review the methodology of the existing work (pre-commencement) and advise suitable work methods by providing Quality Toolbox Meeting (QTB) to all related parties.
• Ensure material and project specifications are met and at the highest standard.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and vendors on T&C activities on site
• Ensure proper sequencing of testing and commissioning activities across multiple systems.
• Oversee pre-commissioning, functional testing, and performance testing to verify system integrity and compliance.
• Manage and track T&C progress, prepare status reports, and ensure milestones are met according to schedule.
• Ensure all commissioning activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Review and approve test reports, checklists, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
• Ensure all inspection and commissioning report are filled up, signed off and properly tracked.
• Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the superior and/or the management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering.
• Good knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards for design, construction and building systems.
• Good knowledge of testing and commissioning standard/procedure.
• Knowledge of BIM modeller or relevant software in regards to building and infrastructure design.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Primavera P6, or relevant software.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to be based in Johor.
