Role Summary

At Flowserve, quality is at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a results-driven Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure Flowserve’s pumps and related equipment consistently meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and compliance. You will be directly responsible for driving improvements in our key quality performance indicators (KPIs), partnering with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to reduce cost of poor quality, improve first pass yield, and strengthen customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
  • Implement, monitor, and continuously improve quality management systems in alignment with ISO 9001 and Flowserve standards.
  • Track, analyze, and report performance against Quality KPIs, including:
  • Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) – $ and %
  • Warranty costs ($)
  • Rework (hours, %) and Scrap ($)
  • Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY %)
  • First Pass Yield (FPY %) across machining, assembly, paint, hydrotest, performance test, and final inspection
  • Escapes (count & %) and Corrective Action (CAR) closure rate
  • Calibration compliance (%) and Internal Audit completion
  • People Training compliance (%)
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues.
  • Support supplier quality management through audits, assessments, and feedback loops.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Customer Service to achieve KPI targets and reduce customer-impacting escapes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reduce rework, and minimize cost of non-conformance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality engineering, preferably in pumps, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean, and structured problem-solving (8D, DMAIC).
  • Proficient in using measurement systems, statistical tools, and quality software for KPI tracking.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with proven ability to present KPI results to leadership and drive improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and customer-focused environment.
