Job description
Responsibilities
  • To participate in a Project Quality Plan (PQP) implemented in company operation or throughout the project implementation.
  • To monitor and improve the QAQC process ie. conditional, dimension check and other required inspections of all incoming material to ensure incoming materials are in accordance with company purchase specifications.
  • To ensure there is evidence that the equipment/machine/system has been subject to QA inspection and buy-off and Internal Machine Buy-Off Report before packing and shipment to the customer.
  • To prepare, collect, review, manage and maintain all the project quality documentation which are required by the client for final acceptance and buy-off of the system, equipment, or finished goods.
  • To support customers on quality-related activities, to liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors, and internal department heads on quality aspects and quality issues for all systems throughout the project implementation.
  • To be responsible for analyses, act on and troubleshoot rejects, respond to customer complaints relating to product quality and start-up issues, keep the customer up-to-date on actions taken, together with a time plan for which the identified issues can be resolved and conduct failure analysis with recommendations for improvement.
  • To take charge of onsite quality inspection jobs when required. To coordinate with onsite sub-contractors for equipment testing and commissioning activities, scheduling and working towards schedule as planned and ensuring that equipment works to its specification.
  • To implement best start-up practices throughout the project sites and participate in discussions with the team for effective management and utilization of constrained resources.
  • To ensure timely certification of all systems and equipment supplied to the customer.
  • To carry out a formal risk assessment to identify and evaluate the risks relating to QA functions and recommend to management for the measures to be implemented to eliminate and minimize those risks.
  • To oversee and ensure regular checks are performed on machine reliability (calibration check) to minimize the risk of disruption to production activities and calibration records.
  • To monitor operational work processes and to ensure it’s in compliance with the Company's Quality Policy and to conduct quality training and quality meetings to drive for continuous improvement relating to quality functions.
  • Ensure that an internal audit program is adopted. Plan and co-ordinate internal audits at a required interval, carry out internal audits, summarise internal audit findings and report to Management with recommendations for improvement for Management review.
  • To follow up on the internal audit results of the control system weaknesses, implement preventative or detective controls so that such weaknesses can be managed and corrective actions are taken to rectify the system weaknesses.
  • To liaise with the ISO auditors and external assessment body on all matters related to the ISO / external accreditation process.
  • To support potential customers’ qualification audit and related activities.
  • To liaise with customer auditors and coordinate with internal department heads on supplier qualification audit points and follow up until the qualification process is completed.
  • To support Purchasing and Engineering Departments on supplier qualification audit suppliers are selected, evaluated and re-evaluated at required intervals and the assessments are maintained and recorded.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the overall QA, ISO functions (ISO 9001 & ISO 14001) and other certifications (UL & CE) throughout the company.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of document, drawing and information control systems throughout the company.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of quality improvement plans formulated from the review of customer complaints, internal rejection, supplier rejection, Corrective Action Request (CAR) and Management Review.
  • Liaise with the relevant Heads of Department to review and resolve all quality & environmental management system-related issues.
Qualifications
  • A highly technical person with very good data analysis skills (SPC, 7QC Tools, etc), attention to detail, problem‑solving with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of FMEA, 8D, and other QA skills will be an advantage.
