A leading food manufacturing company in Johor Bahru is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to supervise the inspection of materials and ensure compliance with quality standards. Responsibilities include monitoring QC activities, performing GMP tasks, and conducting training. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science & Technology, have hands-on experience with Halal certification, and possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills. This is a critical role that directly impacts food safety and compliance.
Supervise and monitor to ensure all the incoming raw material and packaging material is inspected accordingly and meet the specification.
Supervise and monitor for QC activities covered for on-line sampling, finished goods checking and hygiene and cleanliness verification.
Periodically perform GMP and pest control activities to ensure standard is complying and communicate to relevant department PIC for the corrective action.
Follow up on any non-conformities until they are resolved.
Ensure that laboratory and production instruments are maintained with high accuracy, while also maintaining lab consumables and lab hygiene to a high standard.
To maintain all the quality related documents and records keeping in a proper and tidy manner.
To do the quality induction training for new-comer and yearly quality refreshment training according to the standard requirement.
Support external audit, internal audits, customer/ supplier audit, documentation control, and corrective action processes.
Assist the QA/QC cum Halal & Food Technologist as requested.
Perform any other tasks requested by the Quality & RND Manager. Halal Control System
Maintain and keep accurate record to track all Halal-related certifications, Halal status of all the raw ingredients and food products certification.
Accountable to handle any issues related to safety or Halal compliance, such as product recalls or contamination incidents.
Provide training and guidance to employees on halal requirements, practices, and procedures.
Responsible for external Halal audit by JAINJ.
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science & Technology or any related discipline.
1-2 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the food manufacturing industry.
Hands-on experience in handling Halal certification processes.
Possess a Halal Executive Certificate from a recognized Halal Professional Board-registered training provider (preferred).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Proactive attitude with a continuous improvement mindset
