Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in Malaysia is seeking a Quality Control Officer to ensure product quality throughout the production process. Responsibilities include inspecting raw materials, monitoring production quality, and handling quality issues. Candidates should have a degree in applied chemistry or related fields and ideally 1-2 years of experience in the chemical, cosmetic, or food industries. Knowledge of ISO standards and proficiency with measuring tools is essential. Fresh graduates with strong lab experience are also welcome to apply.

Qualifications

  • Familiar with ISO9001/ISO22716, GMP, and GLP.
  • Strong academic lab experience or relevant internships are acceptable.

Job description

The position focuses on ensuring product quality throughout the production process, from raw material inspection to final product release.

Responsibilities
  • Handle quality issues that arise during production.
  • Inspection and supervision of the quality, sanitation and safety of the production process.
  • Inspect the incoming raw material from supplier including chemical and packaging material.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, functional inspection based on Inspection Plan / SOP.
  • Keep samples for each batch of products, documented record per Good Document Practice (GDP).
  • Identify and turn down non-conformance products for quarantine and inform supervisor for disposition.
  • Perform daily in-process visual/dimensional inspection during production and record the inspection result.
  • Assist the team leader to track and investigate quality incidents, and follow up on improvement plan.
  • Ensure the products meet quality requirement before release to warehouse.
  • Investigate the manufacturing process and outbound abnormalities reported by the market and follow up the completion of improvement measures.
  • Customer complaint handling and follow up.
  • Complete the work assigned by the superior.
Requirements
  • At least 1-2 years of working experience in daily chemical, cosmetic and food industry.
  • Applied chemistry, chemical engineering, material chemistry, food engineering, bioengineering and other related majors.
  • Good communication skills, familiar with key quality control points of laboratories, manufacturing processes, packaging materials, and production ingredient processes.
  • Familiar with ISO9001/ISO22716, Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Laboratory Practice and analytical techniques (e.g., PH, Viscosity, Moisture, Refractive Index, Titration, Spectrophotometry).
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, COAs and SOPs.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and work overtime.
  • Able to use measuring equipment such as caliper, gauge etc.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant internships or strong academic lab experience may also be considered.
